a leafpoolXcrowfeather fanfic
Icy pillars of moonlight cascaded down the rocky slope and reflected off the pool with startling brilliance. A single cat, her light tabby pelt catching the starts until she looked almost silver padded carefully down the well-trodden path that marked the entrance to the moonpool. As soon as her paws alighted on the cool sandy ground, a voice only audible to those chosen whispered through the outcropping, carressing her fur like a lonely wind.
'Leafpool,' it spoke, and faded on the breeze as quickly as it had come. StarClan had been expecting her.
As Leafpool approached the moonpool, a thousand emotions twisted through her in an ever-tying knot. Love, fear, uncertainty, anxiousness-- all at once these feelings gripped her in their breathtaking hold. Finally, when she was a tail- length away, Leafpool stopped, and in her muddled confusion she almost forgot why we had come in the first place. Barely did she have time to wonder when it came to her, slicing through her concousness like a well sharpened claw.
Crowfeather.
An image flashed across Leafpool's mind of the cat she was so close to and yet so far away from. Just as had happened with StarClan's voice, the image quickly faded, and once again she was left alone.
But she was not alone.
Silvery cats were all around her, as insecure as mirages and yet strong at the same time. Leafpool blinked to make sure she wasn't imagining things, but when she opened her eyes, there were only more as the members of StarClan filed into the moonpool hollow. A sudden calmness enveloped her, and Leafpool suddenly knew what to do. Closng her eyes, she let their wisdom guide her.

Leafpool blinked, awakening from her reverie. The moon pool glittered, no longer reflecting the moon but the stars. The members of StarClan were no where in sight, and yet as Leafpool watched the moon disappear over the horizon, her heart lifted as she remembered their words:
